I know the dangers of plastic and made my iced tea in a plastic pot. I boil water, then pour into warmed tea bag in the pot until pitcher. Then add cold water and ice, and stored in the refrigerator. I can not with the crystal, probably to the boiling water, but the coffee mug can be used in stainless steel?

If you plan to tea shop, develop a metallic taste.

What I do is boil water in a jar in the microwave, then very slowly in a small metal basket in the pot. It was boiling when you add the tea too quickly. The launcher is a coffee machine removed, heat-resistant. The metal strip that holds the handle hot, but not the handle in this case. A metal pot to give you a taste for tea stains and rancid flavor to develop upon repeated administration.

Looks like you have insulating glass and a thermos, it would be good use for iced tea.
